The Swiss Post Office is honouring the work of George de Mestral – who gave the world Velcro.
The story runs that the engineer was walking his dog in the forests of canton Vaud and he, and his dog, always came back with burdock seeds stuck to them.
Under a microscope he discovered the seeds had thousands of tiny hooks on them. That gave him the idea for Velcro.
The Post Office is issuing a collection of stamps which will feature a small piece of Velcro on them.
