Switzerland has cemented its place as the world's biggest per-capita buyer of Fairtrade goods, even as supermarkets fight a price war.
Sales of certified Fairtrade products rose 6.3% last year to 1.08 billion francs, with average spending of 119 francs per person. That's despite overall Swiss grocery sales growing just 2.5% in nominal terms over the same period.
More than 3,600 Fairtrade items are now on Swiss shelves - keeping the country ahead of Germany and the Netherlands.
