The new Secretary General of the Council of Europe, former Federal Councillor, Alain Berset, says he will appoint an envoy charged with making sure the rights of Ukrainian children are upheld anywhere in the world.
The Swiss politician met with Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, this week.
The Council of Europe issued a statement, saying an envoy will be appointed in the New Year and a task force created which will coordinate all the Council’s actions on Ukraine.
When Berset was appointed in September, he said Ukraine is a priority.
