Switzerland needs regulation in the field of Artificial Intelligence, - says Federal Councillor Albert Rösti in an interview given to NZZ am Sonntag.
He advocates the creation of an appeals body.
The Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC), which he heads, will present a report to the Federal Council by mid-2024.
Rösti considers it possible to adopt the rules of the European Union.
He points out that the UN could also play a role in creating a regulatory framework because of the global nature of the challenges posed by AI.
