Surprise as top restaurant loses Michelin star

Food lovers have reacted with surprise than one of Geneva’s best restaurants has lost a Michelin star.

The Domaine de Châteauvieux in Satigny is down one of its two stars.

It’s held two stars since 1994. Many local food critics believe it’s actually been worthy of three stars for many years.

A Geneva chef, not associated with the restaurant, called the decision a profound injustice.

But where one star falls – another rises. The chef Olivier Jean, from the restaurant L’ Atelier de Joël Robuchon at the Woodward Hotel on the Quai Wilson has been given a second star.

Other Michelin starred restaurants in the canton have maintained their status.
