Support for EU grows in the wake of Ukraine

The war in Ukraine is having a significant impact on how the Swiss see relations with the EU.

Following a survey by gfs.berne for the NZZ newspaper, the number of people having a positive impression of the EU is up 6% to 59%.

Also 60% say they would be in favor of this country joining the EEA.

Many others say they would be okay with following EU law – but they still want the right to challenge laws at the ballot box.

Current talks with the EU are still searching for a way out fi the current impasse.
