Motorists remain highly sceptical of electric cars. A survey shows three quarters are not interested in buying electric and prefer to stay with petrol or diesel.
Only 3% own an electric car and under a quarter say they have any plans to buy one.
The complaints against electric are the environmental impact of batteries, the price, the lack of charging stations and range.
But the survey does show marked attitude difference across the language regions. The most electric cars on the roads are in the French speaking regions, German speakers are the most reluctant and in Italian speaking areas, they are the keenest to buy one. 35% say their next car purchase could be electric.
