Street brawls in Thonex worry residents

Residents in the Geneva commune of Thonex are demanding more action following a brawl between teenagers on Sunday night which left one teen seriously injured.

One resident says there have been several clashes between youths in the border commune for the past few weeks. 

Geneva police say they are taking the incidents seriously. 

On Sunday at least 40 teenagers started to fight, one was kicked in the head, according to witnesses. 

Police say one group appeared to be local, while the other had come in from the centre of the city. The also say some involved were very young – around 12 years old.
