It turns out Apple co-founder Steve Jobs had Swiss roots.
New research has traced his ancestry to the village of Neuenhof in the canton of Aargau. In the mid-1800s, his forebears - the Schibli family - emigrated to the United States with financial help from the local authorities.
Once in America, their name changed to Jobs, and generations later, one of their descendants would revolutionize modern technology.
There have been unconfirmed rumours that Jobs’s family came from Switzerland in the past, but now a full detailed investigation has proven it.
From a modest Swiss farming village to Silicon Valley - a remarkable family journey that quite literally changed the world.
