Some cantons allowing everyone to register for vaccine

Some cantons are allowing anyone over 18 to register for an appointment to get a vaccine – but are unwilling to publicise it too much as they fear an overload.

All cantons are currently focussing on the most vulnerable, mainly the elderly and those with existing illness.

Those not included in the priority groups will have to wait - but the earlier you register, the earlier you’ll get called.

For example, those in Basel, Aargau, Fribourg and Solothurn can register. In Lucerne, 20% of those on the waiting list are under 44 years old.

The head of vaccinations in canton Thurgau, Thomas Walliser, says they haven’t been publicising the registration due to possible overload.
