Servette out of Champions League

Servette are out of the Champions League after only managing a 1 all draw against Glasgow Rangers at the Stade de Genève.

The stadium was sold out – the first time Servette have done that since the first game at the ground 20 years ago.

Support for the local team was visible throughout the city last night. Pubs were packed as everyone became a Servette supporter.

There was a time to dream as Servette scored first. Derek Kutesa found the net in the 22nd minute   and Servette went into the break 1 goal up.

But shortly after the restart, Rangers captain James Tavernier scored to equalize.

The result means Rangers go through 2-3 on aggregate.
