A second helicopter pad has been opened on the top of the Geneva University Hospital.
It will allow more emergency aircraft to land.
The hospital points out the current pad is not just used by the air ambulance operated by the hospital, but also alpine rescue helicopters and local French air ambulances.
It took 15 months to build the new pad – which needed the tallest crane ever installed in Geneva.
The director of the hospital, Robert Mardini, says it will save lives by saving minutes.
