Sahara dust returns - with warning to wash cars

Saraha dust coloring the sky

The Sahara dust is returning – and with it a warning to car owners.

A couple of weeks ago the dust caused the sky to turn orange and left a layer on cars. Meteonews says more will arrive – starting today, but reaching a peak mid-week – and then also the weather will turn colder with rain.

But car owners are being warned, don’t just leave it to the rain to clear the dust off the car.  The sun could bake the orange colour into the paintwork.

It’s recommended to use a high-pressure washer to get if off.
