Russia propaganda attempts to sway SRG SSR vote

Russia Today Deutsch

The Russian propaganda TV channel, Russia Today, has weighed in on the debate if the fee paid to the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation should be cut to CHF 200.

At the start of the month, the German-language outlet of the channel published an article accusing the corporation of deliberately manipulating the public.

The piece also targeted SRF’s Russia correspondent and included what appears to be a fabricated screenshot suggesting political advertising on SRF’s website.

The SSR says such online ads are prohibited under its licence and rejects the claims outright.

Russia Today is financed by Moscow and widely regarded as part of its propaganda apparatus.

Voters will decide on March 8th.
