Swiss French Television are celebrating the success of its most expensive show it’s ever produced – and hopes are high when it debuts on Netflix internationally next month.
The final episodes of the period hotel-based drama, ‘The Winter Palace’ were broadcast last week.
Each episode cost nearly CHF 2m.
Many Geneva based companies benefitted from the lavish production.
While official viewing figures for Switzerland won’t be released until the end of the month, producers say the early signs are very encouraging.
It’s hoped the international exposure will highlight the skills of Swiss production companies.
It can be streamed on RTS in Switzerland right now, but it will be internationally available on Netflix from February 13th.
A second season is already in development.
