Rolex thief sentenced

A man who has a serious gambling addiction has been convicted of stealing 10 Rolex watches from unwitting owners.

He had a technique. When he spotted a watch was for sale by a private seller, he would show up at the house with cash – ranging from CHF 5,000 to 15,000.

He allowed the cash to be inspected by the seller – but would then put the money in an envelope to be handed over and in that time managed a switch to an envelope filled with paper.

But he was caught the tenth time.

He told the court he had massive gambling debts and had already lost his house.

He has to serve 6 months behind bars, return the watches he hasn’t sold and pay back CHF 50,000.

As he’s a Kosovan, he’ll be deported after his sentence.
