Proposal to ban 'Momfluencers'

Parliament is proposing parents should not receive money for their social media posts if they’re using their children.

There are more and more ‘momfluencers’, and they use their children to help market toys and clothes.

The motion is based on a French law which states any money generated by children in the advertising should go into an account that’s blocked and can only be accessed by th4e child when they come of age.

The crackdown is being welcomed by the group Kinderschutz, which looks after children’s welfare. It says it’s not opposed to picture of children online necessarily, just that parents can’t earn money from them.
