Pornographic deepfake images are becoming a major issue for police forces across the country.
While deepfake images are not illegal exactly, they can form part of a criminal case if they’re used for blackmail or intimidation – or if they depict a minor in a sexual manner.
Police say they have already dealt with several cases of revenge porn, using deepfakes.
Those creating deepfake images are also warned it could fall foul of civil law, as under Swiss law, everyone has the right to their own image.
