Police are warning of a new trend in the country – paedophile vigilantism.
Zurich police recently arrested 6 teenagers after they’d beaten up a middle-aged man.
They’d lured the man to a park through social media, pretending to be a girl under 16.
Police know there have been other cases because of social media posts - but many are unreported as the victim is unlikely to approach the police.
While there have been cases of similar activities in other countries, it has only recently started in Switzerland. It seems to be mainly concentrated in the German speaking areas.
