Lausanne police rescued two dogs trapped in a car on Wednesday afternoon.
Both were highly distressed and the police say they were suffocating.
The dogs were in a car at the Ouchy car park.
Attempts were made to find the owner, but officers took matters into their own hands and broke into the car, got the dogs out and gave them water.
They were then taken to a rescue shelter. They were later reclaimed by the owner – who may face charges.
