Police launch new search to ID woman

Geneva police have reissued an appeal to identify a body found in the Arve River ten years ago.

In November 2014 the body of a woman was found near the Quai du Cheval-Blanc. Although the police released the details at the time to international authorities – there were no leads on who she may be.

A genetic profile suggests she comes from an area with links to Spain, so that could be Spain, Portugal, France or even Brazil.

It’s thought she was aged between 40 and 50, 156 cm tall, weighed 56 kilos and had bleached blonde hair. She also had a tattoo of a four leafed clover on her right hand.

The police say there’s no specific reason to relaunch the search now, except for the 10th year anniversary, but a spokesman points out social media is far more prevalent now.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Geneva police.
