Pensioners create flash mob in Geneva

A group of pensioners held a flash mob in Geneva on Saturday, to highlight the precariousness of old age.

The aim was to highlight the campaign for a thirteenth month pension payment which is due to be voted on next month.

Organised by the Association for the Defence of Retirees, the mob featured musicians and around 50 people holding banners on the Rue du Mont-Blanc pedestrian area.

One of the musicians told the press that his pension barely covered his expenses and he still needs to work.

Detractors say there are many wealthy pensioners in the country that don’t need it, it will be too much of a strain on the pension fund and there are benefits available to those that are struggling.
