Parliament is putting pressure on the government to make sure everyone can get a free Covid test if they want.

Some MPs say it will mean a faster end to restrictions and bars and restaurants will be able to open again at the middle of the month. The proposal is everyone can have a test every two weeks.

Many cite the example of canton Graubünden which started mass testing first and had great success in suppressing infections – especially the British variant of the strain.

Liberal Party member Martin Schmid who’s pushing for the testing programme says it will cheaper than the costs of lockdown.
