Parents demand more action at Pâquis school

Parents and residents around the Pâquis-Centre primary school are demanding far stronger measures to end drug dealing in the region.

Locals say children come across dealers and those affected by drugs on a daily basis.

Earlier measures, such as sealing off the school playground with gates, have had some effects – but it’s not enough, say parents.

They’re demanding a full-time police presence. A meeting with authorities and the local associations is planned for next week.

But five cameras will be set up to cover the school grounds. It’s hoped that will be enough to drive dealers from the area.
