An elderly woman was found dead early Saturday after being stabbed several times in her apartment on Rue de Frontenex.
Emergency services were called just after midnight but could not save the 78 year old.
Police quickly arrested the alleged perpetrator, the victim’s 34-year-old granddaughter, near the Eaux-Vives train station.
The Geneva Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the arrest but stressed she remains presumed innocent while the investigation continues.
