Officers who lost guns face no legal action

Geneva prosecutors have decided that no further action will be taken against two police officers who had two machine guns stolen from their car when it was parked in a car park.

It’s been decided that the police didn’t commit an offence.

But they may still be subject to internal disciple measures.

One gun has not been recovered. It’s known that one was used to shoot up a bar in Geneva, while it was closed, that’s been returned – but the whereabouts of the other remains unknown.

There is a suspicion it may have been one of the weapons used in the deadly attack on a prison van in France carrying the drug king pin Mohammad Amra in May last year. He’s still on the run.
