Officer placed spyware on wife's phone

A police officer from canton Vaud is on trial for placing spyware on his wife’s phone and using police resources to track her.

The 30-year-old former bomb squad member was able to track his wife and read her messages.

He told the court that he knew it was wrong and he regrets it.

Furter investigations also showed the man, who’s also described as an extremist survivalist, kept several weapons and explosives without authorisation.

Prosecutors are calling for 8 years imprisonment.
