No-shows are becoming an escalating problem for Swiss businesses.

We’ve already heard of restaurants charging those who fail to turn up for reservations - now the same is happening for hairdressers.

The Blick is reporting is becoming more common.

One hairdresser in Bern says it charges CHF 80 for a no show, it even charges CHF 40 for a cancellation with 24 hours.

Other salons in Lucerne, Zurich and Küsnacht have introduced similar penalties, as businesses move to protect themselves from last-minute gaps in their schedules.
