Nightclubs follow letter of the law

Le Petit Palace Geneva

Nightclubs across the country took the advantage to open as soon as the rules allowed.

The government announced last week that clubs could open from Saturday. If you’re a nightclub, that’s as soon as Saturday starts.

So many threw their doors open at one-minute past midnight – so Friday night customers could continue the party.

But the rules are clear, only those with a certificate to show they’ve been fully vaccinated or with negative tests can enter.

The head of the Petit Palace in Geneva’s Old Town, Antoine Macheda told the Tribune de Genève that it’s surprising how many young people are fully vaccinated.

Not all clubs were ready. The rule change was a bit of a surprise, so many others won’t open until this Thursday.
