There’s a renewed push for this country to start building nuclear power plants after the success of the Secure Electricity Supply vote.
The Federal Energy Minister Albert Rösti has long wanted to end the ban on building new plants, brought in in 2017 after the Fukushima disaster in Japan.
Rösti has also used the passing of the Climate Protection Act as an argument for more atomic power.
While he is likely to get the rest of the Federal Council to back him, parliament may be different.
