It’s been a week since the young cyclist, Muriel Furrer, died after an accident at the Zurich Cycling World Championships.
While official investigations are still going ahead – research by the Blick newspaper suggests the 18-year-old lay seriously injured for more than an hour and a half before being spotted.
The paper concludes Muriel crashed in a forested area that didn’t have marshals around. She was slightly hidden by the undergrowth.
The crash site is only around 2km from where Muriel lived.
She was still alive when found, but died later in hospital.
