Unsurprisingly, municipal swimming pools around the Geneva region were packed to capacity over the weekend.
Some pools actually had to turn people away as they were too full – even the Lignon pool, which has never had to do that before.
It wasn’t just the heat leading to the over-capacity, but also due to the closure of the Carouge Pool which is being renovated.
The number of people allowed in municipal pools is set by federal regulations.
