Switzerland is in talks with the EU in an effort to tie the health systems together, especially in the case of a health emergency.
The talks are part of wide-ranging discussions from food safety to airline access to the EU single market.
In terms of health, Switzerland wants to be part of the European Centre for Disease Protection and Control and the EU’s Health Programme.
The aim is to allow better co-ordination to prevent health threats - including the case of a pandemic.
