Geneva is one of the most international places in Switzerland.
According to new data, 67% of people aged 15 and over have a foreign nationality. Just a third are only Swiss, while 30% have dual nationality and 37% hold only foreign passports.
Dual nationals are especially common among young people. Nearly half of all Swiss in Geneva have another nationality too — and that jumps to over 50% for 15 to 24-year-olds.
Most commonly, it’s Swiss-French, followed by Swiss-Italian and Swiss-Spanish. In fact, there are more Franco-Swiss than people with only French nationality.
