More school phone bans

More schools are banning phones during the day.

The next on the list is the International School in Geneva. 

All three campuses will ban phones from today. 

Students will have to switch off their phones and keep them hidden during the day. 

The head, Conrad Hughes, says the rules will also apply to staff. They can’t use their phones outside offices. He says it’s important not to be hypocrites. 

Also today, a whole commune is banning phones in its schools – it’s the first time such a ban has been brought in on a communal level. 

School students in Köniz in canton Bern will have to leave phones in their lockers.
