More Ukrainian refugees are arriving at federal asylum centers, with many having to wait for hours before being processed.

Authorities are pointing out those who have somewhere to stay can go straight there as they have 90 days before they have to be registered.

The State Secretary for Migration, Christine Schraner Burgener, is asking everyone to be patient.

She was visiting a centre in Zurich which was dealing with around 100 people waiting.

There are around 50,000 places available for refugees to stay – offered by the cantons or private individuals.
