Man who fired on teen will be jailed

Federal Court

A man who shot and seriously injured a teenager in Lucerne because he and his friends were being too loud, will have to go to jail.

Back in 2017 the man was at home in Ebikon when he was being disturbed by the kids outside. He picked up his army issue rifle and fired at them, hitting one.

He did then rush to help. He told police he thought the gun was not loaded.

A cantonal court sentenced him to 6 years in jail, but he appealed to the Federal Court, believing it to be too harsh.

In fact, the federal judges described it as a bit mild and confirmed the order.
