A man was killed by a gun shot during a hunting trip in canton Vaud on Friday.
The 64-year-old was hunting with two friends in the woods near Echallens.
Police believe one of his two friends, aged 67 and 80, fired the fatal shot – but are unsure which.
It seems the hunters fired what’s called stalking shots – aimed at dislodging animals. Stalking shots are highly illegal.
Fatal hunting shooting accidents are very rare in this country. The last one was in 2019 in Ticino.
Most deaths during hunting are due to falls.
