Major supercar sale on the banks of Lake Geneva

McLaren P1 - Bonhams

The super-rich gathered on the shores of Lake Geneva yesterday to pick some new toys. At an auction run by Bonhams, in Cheserex, a collection of 45 rare and very expensive super cars went up for sale.

The highest value was a 2014 McLaren P1 – one of only 375 ever made – sold for CHF 1.2m.

A car, formally owned by Roger Federer, sold for nearly CHF 200,000. It was a 2009 Mercedes CLK 63 AMG. At the time it was the most powerful Mercedes built and there were only 1,000 made.

In total over CHF 10m worth of cars changed hands.
