The decision by Geneva to ban children living outside the canton from its schools has gone to the very top.

French president Emmanual Macron raised the issue with the Swiss president, Karin Keller-Sutter when they met in Paris.

It’s reported he said he was concerned and disappointed at the decision.

There are 2,500 children living in France attending Geneva schools. Local French authorities have expressed concern how they would cope with the extra load if they’re banned from Geneva.
