A fire broke out on a livestock farm in St-Triphon yesterday morning. A Valais police officer first noticed the blaze and raised the alarm.
Significant rescue resources were deployed including 60 firefighters, an Emergency Support Team, police, gendarmerie and a special forensic science brigade.
Traffic on the A9 towards Martigny was affected, as well as the local trainline.
The livestock was mostly evacuated but some geese died in the blaze. No people were injured.
The building, which included an empty apartment within the farm, was completely destroyed.
An investigation has been launched.
