King Charles skips traditional Swiss trip

The British royal family seems to be breaking a long-term tradition – taking a skiing break in Switzerland.

For more than 40 years, the royals have been visiting the top-class resort of Klosters in canton Graubünden. But there’ll be no visit this year.
Commentators suggest there are two reasons for skipping the long holiday tradition.

King Charles is due to be crowned in May. It’s thought he doesn’t not want to risk being injured for the event – a leg in a cast would not be a good look on the day.

Also, as so many are suffering in a cost of living crises, Charles would not want to be seen living the high life.

The Coronation will be held on Saturday May 6th.
