Iranian police say they’re investigating the death of a senior worker at the Swiss Embassy in Tehran.
They say they’ve ruled out suicide after the 52-year-old woman fell from a residential tower block in the northern area of the capital.
Iranian news agencies say the woman was a ‘high ranking’ worker at the embassy. The Swiss Foreign Affairs department is not issuing any further details, other than confirming the death. The foreign minister, Ignazio Cassis, says he's shocked.
The Swiss Embassy in Tehran has been representing the interests of the United States since the Islamic revolution in 1979.
