'I'm not dead' says man who's pension was stopped

A man is fighting for his right to be alive after the social security office declared him dead.

Last November, 74-year-old Ullrich Frey from Winterthur called the local pension office to ask why he hadn’t been paid.

They responded – but you’re dead.

Very much alive Ulrich tried to persuade them otherwise.

After much investigation, it was his ex-wife who died and a computer mistake stopped the wrong payment.

Ulrich was unaware of the death. They divorced more than 40 years ago and they hadn’t been in touch much since. But they remain linked in the system.
