Hospital cut from insurance firm

A move by the health insurer, Groupe Mutual, has sent shockwaves through the local medical system.

It says it will no longer cover the costs at the Hopital de la Tour in Meyrin.

The insurer says it made the decision after it could not reach a price agreement with the hospital.

One doctor says it’s a surprise and he believes patients are being held captive.

It’s understood the hospital was the only one an agreement couldn’t be reached with.

Any patient who’s already being treated by Hospital de la Tour will continue to be so, but Groupe Mutual will not cover any further admissions.
