Homeopathy will remain covered by the basic health insurance, after authorities decided not to reassess its status.
The Federal Office of Public Health, backed by Interior Minister Elisabeth Baume-Schneider, says a full review would be too costly and time-consuming.
Officials also point to the 2009 public vote supporting complementary medicine as justification.
Medical groups, including the Swiss Medical Association, welcome the decision, noting strong demand. Around one-third of insured people use such treatments each year.
Despite that, costs remain low - about CHF 18m annually, that’s a tiny fraction of total health spending.
