High infections - low hospitalizations

Despite high Covid infection rates, hospitalizations are continuing to fall.

Most positive cases are with the Omicron sub-variant, which is more transmissible, but less dangerous than the original strain.

In Geneva, the number of people being treated for Covid is down from 446 at the beginning of the month to 407 last week.

But half of those being tested are positive – last November, it was one in 10. 3,500 people are currently in isolation in the canton.
