Geneva wine growers are fearful for this year’s harvest following a late cold snap – the first wines from last year have been released – and the reception is largely positive.
Ahead of the Geneva Open Cellars on May 25th, some bottles were opened last week to a select crowd – and they’re predicting 2023 will be marked as a special vintage.
The hot weather last year caused higher sugar levels – and then rains in August and September allowed for growth.
There are also high hopes for the wines that are designed to wait a while before being released.
