Hundreds of healthcare workers demonstrated outside the Federal Palace in Bern over the weekend - saying there’s an exodus of staff.
One union representing nurses says more than 300 leave the profession every month.
The demonstrators say the crisis is being caused by a lack of resources and say a high quality of healthcare cannot be guaranteed.
Unions say there are several ways the crisis can be tackled: better pay, better calculation of time worked, clear vacation allowances and help with childcare costs.
It was only a year ago the people voted in favour of an initiative to improve working conditions for nurses.
