Health insurers use different methods to find customers

Health insurance companies are taking a highly imaginative approach to find new customers since the ban on cold calling.

It’s been illegal since September for companies or brokers to make unsolicited calls.

To get around the laws, the companies are partnering with retail outlets.

The Swiss Romande Federation for Consumers says they’re tracking the deals.

Coop is offering super points in return for agreeing to a get an offer from the CSS company. There are some competitions being offered, but to claim the prize you allow to be contacted by a broker.

You can even get free delivery and installation of furniture from Conforama if you agree to a meeting.

The consumer federation says these approaches are legal but ethically questionable.
